We are pleased to announce that the 2025 LSHK Annual Research Forum (ARF) will be held on December 6th (Saturday), co-organized by the Department of English Language and Literature, Hong Kong Baptist University. ARF2025 will be held on campus at Hong Kong Baptist University.
We are now inviting submission of abstracts for presentation at the ARF. Please find the details below.

The 2025 Annual Research Forum of The Linguistic Society of Hong Kong 
Date: December 6, 2025 (Saturday)
Abstract submission deadline: October 31, 2025 (Friday)
The Linguistic Society of Hong Kong (LSHK) cordially invites abstracts for the 2025 Annual Research Forum (ARF2025), which will be co-organized by the Department of English Language and Literature, Hong Kong Baptist University. As is customary ARF practice, there will be parallel sessions, and papers related to any area of linguistics are welcome. Every paper will be allotted 20 minutes for an oral presentation, followed by discussion. Please note that a paper presenter should be an LSHK member. You may apply for the LSHK membership or renew yours at https://lshk.org/membership/.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION 
ARF2025 will be held on campus at Hong Kong Baptist University. Each member is entitled to one single-author presentation and one joint presentation. Abstracts may be written in either Chinese or English. Each submission should be limited to one A4 page and be saved in DOC/DOCX and PDF formats. All submissions will undergo anonymous review. Please submit your abstracts to 21482578@life.hkbu.edu.hk, using “LSHK ARF Abstract Submission” as your email subject. Include your full name, abstract title, and affiliation in the body of your email. The submission deadline is Oct. 31, 2025 (Friday).
PROPOSAL FOR THEME-BASED PARALLEL SESSION 
Members who would like to propose a theme-based parallel session are welcome to send a proposal (maximum two pages) to the LSHK Executive Committee at excom@lshk.org, specifying the theme and the format of the session and target participants. The deadline for panel proposals and abstracts is Oct. 17, 2025 (Friday).

The 8th Cantonese Read-Aloud Test / 第８屆粵音朗讀測試 （2023年第二次）

香港語言學學會自 2019 年起舉辦「粵音朗讀測試」（Cantonese Read-Aloud Test，下稱「朗讀試」），至今已是第 8 屆。

2023 年第 2 次測試將於 11 月 25 日舉行，由香港理工大學專業及持續教育學院 語文及傳意學部 協辦，繼續為測試者提供粵音水平的專業資格認證。

朗讀試歡迎所有希望取得認證的人士參加，例如從事教育、傳媒等行業的人士，或希望評估其粵音朗讀水平的粵語學習者。
