The Language Policy Work Group was established in 2012 with an objective to construct an online knowledge base on language policy and to focus on the language policy issues concerning education, standardization, and social practices in Hong Kong.
Objectives
To study academic literature on language policy and world-wide language policies to build up a solid theoretical backbone for actions
To research on language policy related issues from a sound linguistic and historical perspective
To focus on the language policy issues concerning education, standardization, and social practices in Hong Kong and China at large, and study, discuss and provide suggestions and solutions
To construct an online knowledge base on language policy as we have done before and strengthen it
To disseminate our findings and opinions to the general public
